01
Mission Statement:
Renew Hope, Restore Holiness, & Redeem Hearts, all through Jesus.
02
Vision Statement:
The First Free Methodist Church will serve as the hands and feet of Jesus to reach the lost, broken, and lonely with the Hope, Grace, and Love that Jesus provides.
03
Core Values:• Father, God: We serve in recognition of God as the Creator of all things as well as Heavenly Father to all who are adopted into His Family by the receiving of the Holy Spirit through profession of faith in Jesus as Lord. We recognize that we can only "water" the seed of the Gospel through our service and ministry, but God is the only One who can grow the church and create hearts anew. Gen. 1:1, Isa. 40:28, 1 Pt. 4:19• Christ, The Son: We will honor the Lord, Jesus Christ in all that we practice and teach and proclaim the way to eternal life through faith in Jesus, and Jesus alone, by the grace of God alone. We desire to reflect nothing but the love, life, and holiness of Christ as we serve God and others. Mt. 16:16, Mk. 14:61-62, Jn. 1:1• The Holy Spirit: We serve others with a power, not our own, but a power that comes from the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit, a power that breaks through hearts of stone, calcified by lust, doubt, and pride from this life. It is the Holy Spirit that adopts us as a child of God. It is the Holy Spirit that empowers our individual lives and our collective ministry. Rm. 8:15, 23, Mt. 28:19• The Gospel: Whenever and wherever possible, the Gospel will be utilized in every teaching and preaching of God's Word through all ministries of the Church. The Gospel being that God, the Father, sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross as an atoning sacrifice for the sins of the world so that whoever profess with their mouth and believes in their heart that Jesus is Lord will not perish eternally but will have eternal life in Heaven. 1 Cor. 3:6, Gal. 1:11, Eph. 6:15• Prayer: The ministries and activities of this church will be characterized by a reliance on the powerful effective prayers of the righteous believers herein. James 5:16, 1 Tim. 2:1-2
04
Core Values:• Meaningful and relevant worship: We will provide meaningful and relevant worship that conveys the Good News of Jesus Christ through songs, liturgy, and the Sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion. Psalm 150, Heb. 13:15, John 4:23-24• Welcoming all to encounter Jesus: We welcome all people into our worship and ministry space so they can encounter Jesus and become a renewed creation by grace, through faith, by the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit. (John 12:32, Romans 15:78
• Nurture and care for our church family: As brothers and sisters in Christ, we will nurture and care for each other as a church family meeting each other's needs, keeping each other company, mourning when others mourn, rejoicing when others rejoice, and holding each other accountable according to Scripture. (1 Cor. 10:31)
• To equip lay persons: We will train and support lay people to be leaders in this church and community, to carry out the ministries of the church.• Small groups: We will form small groups that meet specific needs and promote growth in Christ.• Growth: We believe that Christianity exists to share Christ with others. We believe through the planting of seeds of faith/Gospel, through utilizing our spiritual gifts in service to God, that God will produce a Harvest of rightousness and hope through our efforts for His glory. Therefore, we will pursue attitudes and knowledge that encourage numerical growth without compomising in any way our integrity or our commitment to biblical truth.• Improvement of our physical facilities: Updating and expanding the physical facilities will continue in order to enhance the present and future ministries of the church.
